Staff Analysis of the Legislation
HB 794 seeks to adjoin the positions of the judge of the Probate Court of Macon County and the chief magistrate judge of the Magistrate Court of Macon County on and after January 1, 2017. The bill calls for no election in 2016 or thereafter for the office of the chief magistrate judge.  The office of which as well as the term length shall be concurrent with that of the judge of the probate court.
